Five months after taking a leave of absence from her daytime talk show, Whoopi Goldberg returned to “The View” this week while also sharing stories and laughs with viewers. “It’s an honor to sit at this table and be able to talk about the issues of the day,” said the 58-year-old actress during her opening remarks on Monday.-“I certainly didn’t mean to hurt anybody or cause any grievous harm,” she added. After a brief hiatus following controversy over comments made about the Holocaust, Goldberg’s return was met with cheers from others sitting on the set including co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck as well as audience members who attended in person.”We can’t wait for you to get your life together and come back because we need you here,” joked Rosie O’Donnell, who has hosted in Goldberg’s place since last November.-Chris Brown, who has previously appeared as a guest on “The View,” served as musical guest during Goldberg’s return episode.
