Radhe Shyam is a period romance story set in the 1970s and 1980s. The film opens with a grand narration performed by mentor Amitabh Bachchan, who explains that this will be a battle between love and destiny. Satya Raj plays Pratap Deva. He’s introduced as the Guru of Palmistry, a visually impaired man well-versed in fortune-telling who has raised one orphan lover (played by Anushka). A group of researchers show up to ask about his celebrated pupil Vikramaditya (Pranavarth), who we’re told is the ‘Einstein of Palmistry’ and a “Nostradamus” of India.
