On Sunday, Abinas Nayak was announced as the winner of MasterChef India 6! The 30 year old professional cook beat Oindrila to take home the coveted MasterChef golden chef-coat and a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh. Here’s what he told indianexpress about his incredible experience working on his skills in the kitchen alongside the other contestants during his season: “I didn’t feel pressure at any time during the competition. I always tried my best to focus on each task at hand, rather than comparing my food to that of my competitors’. For example, I wouldn’t consider it a big deal if someone cooked scrambled eggs better than me. Rather, I would assess myself against how well cooked my own scrambled eggs were compared to previous tasks.” “In fact, what really helped me is that we had up to five cameras shooting us all at one time. As a result, because we only saw ourselves on screen, I never felt pressured by what else was happening around us in the kitchen or judged by fellow contestants.”
